For those of you that already have curly hair keep you hair brushed when about 0.5 inches until you reach at least 1 inch. When at 1 inch comb your hair, comb your hair lightly not hard or else it will hurt. I recommend you to comb you hair at the top. When at 2 inches start to pick it with what we call and "afro pick" comb all around like a ball. Grow it out to at least 3-4 inches and pick it at the top try not to go so deep or you will hurt your scalp.
For those of you that don't have curly hair crunch your hair up and pick it out every day and repeat, crunch, pick, crunch, pick. Until your hair is 4-6 inches and do whatever you like
You cannot grow an afro unless you were born with one like me !!

perm makes your hair grow so , i guessing yeah it would .
It depends if you have the silky straight hair then no. But the kinkier and thicker it is then probably.
It does grow, however because we grow curls on the outside of our scalp it looks shorter as it grows. If you are concerned with "seeing the length" get a relaxer.
First you have to have silk curls like him, it's comes natural. Just wait for it to grow..
It will likely continue to grow out, and may have some unkempt ends.
Nope, I've been growing my afro for 1 year without trimming and its long enough to cornrows and is long enough for me to wear a lot of hair styles.
Never. He wants to grow an afro so he can look "cool" hopefully very soon
That depends greatly on genetics. There are many different types/textures of black hair, so some may grow "down" while others appear to grow outward or "up".
