The easiest way to do that is to put some hydrogen peroxide in their bowl and have them drink it. They will vomit in less than a minute.

There is only one effective way to induce vomiting in dogs, and if you own a dog of any breed, you should always have on hand the ingredients that can make your dog vomit very quickly.

The method you should use is the usage of a three percent solution of hydrogen peroxide. However, it is critical to make sure that the solution is only three percent as anything higher can be dangerous to any pet. It is also very important to note that the bottle will say that this product is toxic if ingested, but I have used this method for over 20 years on several dogs and it works every time and is totally safe for both dogs and cats.

The reason it is safe, is that it does exactly what it is intended to do, it causes vomiting, and because of this, it does not stay in your dog's body.

To administer this method, you should also keep on hand an oral syringe in your dog's first aid kit, and place one teaspoon in the syringe for every 10 pounds that your dog weighs. You know how much your dog weighs better than anyone else, so this can be done very quickly.

Once you have placed the syringe in your dog's mouth and pumped it in, walk your dog gently for a few minutes and then shake their stomach. If they do not vomit within a few minutes, repeat the process, but from experience I have never had to repeat it.

It is also worth noting that on the syringe, one teaspoon of this liquid will equal 5 cc or 5 ml. As part of your dog's first aid kit it will save a lot of time if you mark with a red marker the cc or ml amount ahead of time based on their weight. There is also one other thing to watch for; make absolutely sure your dog does not ingest what they have just vomited.

This may sound repulsive, but as any dog owner knows, your dog may do this naturally.

There may be some people that may recommend using syrup of Ipecac which is extremely effective in young children, but your dog is not a child---they are a dog. This method can not only be very dangerous, it has been documented to be toxic.

Hope this helps,

Frank

Stick two fingers, or a similarly elongated object, down your throat to trigger your gag reflex. Also drink lots of water to dilute the poison and give you something to vomit. To play it safe, call a doctor or emergency care as well.

What drug stores allow you to buy ipecac over the counter?

That was in most of them. You'd have to ask the pharmacist for it, but you didn't need a prescription. Now, you are unlikely to find it in too many pharmacies since it is no longer recommended to induce vomiting in the case of poisoning.

What kind of household or items medicines can make you vomit when eaten without poisoning you or causing general harm only for a 1 time emergency in case the baby needs it and I can't get puke syrup?

In most cases, using activated charcoal will stop almost any poison from having an effect on the body. This includes pharmaceutical drugs, arsenic, etc. This would be the safest option, instead of inducing vomiting. In order to induce vomiting:* Drinking warm salt water. or* Swallowing a small amount of tobacco will make you throw up almost instantly. To induce vomiting, rub the roof of the mouth of the baby, and off course a warm salt water along with it.

How do you treat chemical poisoning by mouth?

Rinse the mouth out immediately and phone poison control. If you can't talk have someone tell the person what type of chemical it is. It seriously depends on the kind of toxic substance adminstered. Treatment is done by many ways including drinking large amount of fluids like water, inducing vomiting if there is no risk of aspiration, sometimes using gastric lavage if the patient is in coma, or using specific antidote for the toxin. But it is strongly recommended that in case of poisoning by any way, to call the nearest toxicolgy center or hospital for the appropriate emergency treatment for each case. Do not induce vomiting. First things first. Call 911. Call poison control center if you have it. Do not induce vomiting on chemical poisons because they can cause burns on the mouth, throat and esophagus. If they vomit this caustic material back up, now they can burn the area twice. Not a good idea and safer to have it pumped out at the emergency room.

How does it feel like when vomiting biles?

If a person is vomiting bile, they will not be feeling at all well. The reason for vomiting bile could be because of a recent meal, that was not fully digested before vomiting. The person might be allergic to the food and this caused the vomiting along with the digestive enzymes and juices called bile. If a person has had a recent gallbladder surgery, this too could cause bile vomiting. In either case the individual will not enjoy the sensation and may feel slightly light headed after completion.
