There is no particular right or wrong way of praying per say. Hindus believe in a variety of methods and approaches of praying and thanking god including the following:
-Religious Chanting or "Bhajans"
-"Aarti ritual" which is performed by both chanting, ringing bells, clapping, rotating a small auspicious flame around the Hindu god idol/s, the flame is then passed around across the room for everyone to respect.
- Individual prayers, these are individualised thus each person has there own style or approach to praying this may be done by internal thought, meditation in front of idols, or praying on knees towards the idols.
- The key is to remember there is no right or wrong approach, the above generally are the given norms for most hindus regarding praying.
