Lets say you are a foreperson. You have one hundred thousand parts to have painted and shipped, and you have two months to get your part of this job done. Let us not forget that there is a possibility that your company has other job requirements that need to be filled as well. Usually a large company would have planners in place to plan your work day for you, but if not then perhaps you have to look at your total work load, see what pieces are needed right away and you do them first. In most production companies, there is usually a 6 week lead time which means that even though the order is sitting on your desk, you have as much as 6 weeks to complete it. You prioritize your work loads and ask the people who work under you to stay for overtime. Most companies won't object to overtime being paid out because some contracts carry penality clauses so the company if in default of delivery they can be made to pay high penalities for not shipping time. The bottom line to all of this is, if you work with your planner and if you don't have a planner then if you know your job, you should know how to get the most important things out the door on time.

You can prioritize your tasks by making a list, or using an app to organize your tasks. Make a list of what you need to do, and number it from one to ten, then do it. When you complete it, cross it off your list.
