If the panels are like the 95 and 96 models, you don't need to remove door panels....carefully pop the grill covers off the door panels...there is a speaker mount behind the grill...remove the 4 speaker screws and your done. Start with the top of the grill and pull gently downward. There are metal clips on the cover and plastic hooks to the side which all hold it in place. Slow and careful is the name of the game here.
You have to remove the door panels. 1. On the front doors, there should be 3 screws on each door. 1 on the side closest to the body of the car, 1 in the door handle, and 1 inside the arm rest. Remove all screws. 2. Firmly yet delicately pull the door panels off slightly from the door. Start from the sides or the bottom. 3. Unplug the electrics, door light and windows. 4. You should have full access to the speakers there. 5. Repeat the process to re-assemble the door panels. EEEEEEEEAAASYYYYYY!!!!!

Power windows? Well the panels have to come off to fix that anyway. Down at the bottom of the door panel where the pocket section is, there are 4 screws hidden in the carpet. They are super hard to see, but feel around and use a strong light to look for them. Then if you have speakers in the door, carefully pry off the grill and remove the hidden screws. If I recall correctly, the next screw is around the door handle, underneath it? The door panel is only held on by clips once the screws are removed. Jiggle it around and lift it upwards.
