The 240D fuel sensor is located under the first aid kit. You can also see it from the trunk. Unscrew the first aid tray push it towards the window, lift it up and out. When you look inside there is a cable that is attached to a plug. That's the fuel sensor. You are going to need a pretty big wrench to get that off though. Also, try checking the fuses.
