You should pull down their pants or shorts, or pull up their skirt or dress and paddle them on their underpants. You can tell by their crying if they have learned their lesson. If you think they deserve it, pull down their underpants and paddle their bare bottom. It makes the paddle sting more and they won't forget this paddling any time soon. You don't have to pull their underpants down all the way, just enough so their bottom is mostly bare. This is how I got punished when I was 12.
