Chocolate comes from the coco tree
yeah from a cacao tree :)
Well, partially. The chocolate is made from cocao (not coco) beans that are ground, with milk and sugar added, and sometimes with a little bit of secret ingredients that makes it exceptionally tasty.
Cocoa beans are the dried and fully fermented seeds of the cacao tree. They contain a variety of components including cocoa solids, cocoa butter, and other natural compounds that contribute to the flavor and nutritional profile of chocolate. These beans are typically roasted, cracked, and processed to make cocoa powder, cocoa butter, and ultimately chocolate products.
That would be the cocoa tree.
Cocoa beans grow in the tropics on a small tree. The beans grow in pods abount the size of a deflated football. First the beans are removed from the pods and firmented for afew weeks. Then they are roasted not unlike coffee beans. After that they are ground into cocoa. To turn these beans into chocolate, a good portion of them are roasted and sent separated by a machine called a winnower. From there they are ground into a paste and mixed with cocoa butter and sugar until refined into various forms of chocolate.
The "cocoa" part of the cocoa bean refers to the processed and ground seed of the cacao tree. When the beans are harvested, fermented, dried, roasted, and cracked open, they yield cocoa nibs, which are then ground to produce cocoa mass, butter, and powder used in making chocolate and other products.
They cut down the tree of cacao. The cacao is beans that have chocolate inside it. That's how the Aztecs made chocolate.
Chocolate is derived from the beans of Theobroma Cacao , cocoa or chocolate nut tree. So it is produced from a fruit.
Cocoa is the name associated with a powdered substance after the cacao beans are processed. The main difference between cocoa and chocolate is the absence or existence of cocoa butter. In cocoa, cocoa butter is little or non-existent. In contrast, chocolate has cocoa butter.
The pods are cut off the trunk, opened, and the beans are removed to be dried, roasted, and ground into chocolate.
