The triangle is structurally the strongest geometric shape which is why in chassis building you'll see so many of them (in NASCAR for instance). When buying a custom racing or rodding chassis you might see someone advertising an "X" chassis - what they've done is welded the two parallel frame rails together with a large X in the middle which is essentially made up of 4 triangles. Stop off at your local circle track and hit the pits to take a look as some of the late models or sprinters, if you look closely you'll see examples of triangulation all over the place. Take care!

How does triangulation work in structures?

A triangulation data structure is a data structure designed to handle the representation of a two dimensional triangulation. Triangulation is the one who is responsible for the creation and removal of faces and vertices (memory management).

Why do electric pylons have triangulation?

Triangulation is used to determine the position of points on the Earth's surface, including pylons. Pylons use triangles in their construction because a triangle is a very strong and stable structure.

Who discovered triangulation?
