The Bible was not written by humans, as many people believe. It was only physically penned by human hands. The actual content, or "soul," of the Bible is from none other than God, and only God. God chose about 40 people to pen down the words that He would give them. Therefore, the author of the Bible is actually God.
Although there is much debate and uncertainty as to who actually put each book together to create the Bible (some say Constantine, others credit the church "fathers"), we know that ALL who contributed to the text of the Bible had received some sort of vision/message from God. For example, John saw the Revelations (events that mark the end of the world) and was instructed to write down all that he saw.
