him and Lewis are famous because they were sent on the 4-6 month jrouny across the Indian territory which is now known as the US. former president Thomas Jefferson sent them to find a way to the Pacific Ocean and were ask to send plants and other stuff back to him they were also the first people on the Orgen Trail they came back as heroes because that was the Louisiana Purchase, and they were just about gone for 1 year. Some said it was not worth
it because it was very life risking others said it was worth it because it doubled the size of the US.
