DX originated with the Kliq, which was a backstage alliance between Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, X-Pac, Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Eventually, they just let HBK and The Game go out on TV and pull the shenanigans that they'd been pulling backstage (Chyna was in DX because she was dating HHH at the time). As time grew, so did the group
