Paper was invented by Cai Lun in 105 AD, which was one of the four great inventions by the Chinese. Cai Lun not only greatly improved the paper making technique, but also made it possible to use a variety of materials, such as tree bark, hemp, rags, etc.
To make rough straw paper takes two kinds of bamboo as raw materials, with the addition of birch leaves, lime and water. Generally, the paper, called zhuma(bamboo hemp), is clean and is a good absorbent.
Originally, paper makers used bamboo curtains to hang the sheets of pulp on till they dried to the constituency of damp paper. Later, the remaining water was squeezed out.
Paper wasn't really made, there was something called papyrus paper and they used that to write on as paper
