Roosevelt actually did things to get people working. He got the WPA going that built roads, bridges, and other public works. Even today you can see some of the WPA bridges. Many are still in use. He got social security passed, and new bank laws in place so it wouldn't happen again. In recent years some of these laws have been repealed allowing banks to do investment and merge when they couldn't under the Roosevelt laws. We saw the results of that in 2008 and many of us still haven't recovered. If Obama or the next president did some of the Roosevelt measures we could get people working. We have infrastructure that needs to be repaired or replaced, and we have to understand that a bank is "too big to fail" it has a problem cheating people.
