AK47 also well known as "Avtomat Kalashnikov" has German origins. During the WW2 there were no automatic weapons besides automatic pistols with large magazines. German engineers developed a gun, which was able to shoot automatically with large bullits (7.92 х 33mm). There wasn't available any other automatic weapon with large bullits. Anyway Hitler didn't like this weapon and freezes the project. Later Kalashnikov developed a similar weapon, which is now used well around the world. There are more than 80 000 000 AK47's produced and this number is still increasing.
