The crab pulsar is a neutron star, it does not have an atmosphere as far as we know.
The Crab Nebula, of which the Crab Pulsar is a part of, got its name in 1840 when the William Parsons, made a drawing of the nebula that he thought looked like a crab. Pretty simple if you think about it.
At the centre of the Crab Nebula is the neutron star - Crab pulsar.
Yes, it's called the crab pulsar.See related link for more information
The same size as a normal neutron star. See related question.
The Crab Nebula is a supernova remnant and pulsar wind nebula.
The Crab Nebula was first observed in 1731.
it was a greek legend {coonstellations}
Doubtful. The nearest pulsar to us is Geminga at over 815 light years or PSR J0437-4715 at 510 light years.

The first pulsar was found by Jocelyn Bell Burnell and Antony Hewish in July 1967.Because they had not idea what they had discovered they called the new object LGM-1, for "little green men". It was later determined to be a pulsar [See related question]. Their pulsar was later dubbed CP 1919, and is now known by a number of other designators.See related link for more information.
