The iPod Touch was created to fill the market void for people who wanted the features of an iPhone without being tied to a contract or necessarily wanting the features of a phone. With the increased capacity of the iPod Touch over the iPhone (32gig for an iPod Touch, 16gig for an iPhone), it has also come to fill the market voice for people who want both the features of the iPhone and the larger storage capacity of the iPod Touch.
