Treaty of Versailles (the treaty that ended World War 1) was extreamly unfair to Germany. In fact Germany was not even invited to the making of the Treaty. The Treaty stated that 1. Germany had to pay back billions in reperations to France and England. 2. Germany's army could be no more then 200,000 men. 3. Germany had to give up nearly half of it boundaries. 4. and probably the most humiliating thing for the people, Germany had to admit that they started world war 1 (which they did not).
When the great depression came, along with the unpaid reperations. the crash of the economy hit German harder then most countries. To the point where People were starving in the streets. Now comes Hitler a man who promises to restore Germany's economy, land, and most important national pride. Hitler with these promises and his amazing ability to speak among large audiences quickly gains him many followers. Hitler is elected to a position of power as chancellor, and after the president of Germany dies, Hitler takes controle merging the position of supreme chancellor and president into one position and claiming himslef Führer or "Leader" of Germany taking controle of the military and Basically all of Germany.
Through this we see how the unfair treatment of countries can lead to the rise of people like Hitler, and help contribute to starting the most destructive war the world has ever seen.
