i think it started with the Boston witch trials when people thought people were practicing evil rituals and witchcraft so they burned them at the stake or killed them. but they rlly werent witches-i think lol[ ==
The witchcraft were suspected because people at the time were so dumb that they started to wonder where the sun went at night, but at morning it was back there again. This made them think that maybe there is something that is controlling the world behind us, with incredible powers beneath it. Catholic church started to suspect witchcraft mostly women, they hated witch that they ended up persecuting them ( first country to persecute - Scotland )
It was a bad time because witchcraft was starting to get noticed and they started to hang and kill people.

Because Wicca ans Witchcraft have o many things in common since Wicca started from Witchcraft itself and developed as a religion. Apart from that there are so many religions Witches could follow. Voodoo is also a religion and people who follow Voodoo practices Witchcraft. In LaVey satanism, the second degree female rank is "Witch". They also practice a form of ceremonial Witchcraft.

Suspicion? Witchcraft is real, there is many witches today, but they are not like you think. Search "Wiccan" into Google and research a little. It is a very interesting religion.
