Think about it this way. If there is not much of a certain animal, its predators would begin to die off. Then, with little natural enemies, the species would thrive and become overly-crowded. Then, so would its predators with so much prey to feast on... but then the species amount would begin to go down hill and the process would begin all over again, causing a vicious-circle. How do you stop it? My keeping the species' amount the same all the time.
