Jewish children were allowed to attend Jewish segregated schools until 1939 when education was barred from them. It was illegal for them to learn. Many Jewish children in Nazi Germany were too busy trying to survive after 1939 and education was not a primary concern. Many Jewish children in hiding were taught by convents if they were lucky or not at all. Ghettos had underground schools but education in general was minor at that time because of the danger and because the fight for survival was more important.
