I'm not an expert, but from what Ive learned Germany was going through a major recession, and Hitler offered jobs making his weaponry ... tanks, and other munitions. When he controlled the jobs, he became a favored leader and rose to power. Hitler was also very strong in the eyes of the Germans who were in desperate need of a fearless leader. Also, don't forget that after WW1 Germans had to pay reparations which essentially bankrupted the country. Many of the German people saw that was other countries faults for their misfortune, and when Hitler started preaching that Germans should rise to power and that it was their time, they simply jumped on bored. I'm not saying that all Germans hate/hated us, but in that many felt like they had been robbed. Hitler rose to power by pandering to these issues, and once he did he used it wasn't that hard to convince everyone to join his political group. He also started his group with children. He basically made boy scouts on steroids (there was a name for it but i forgot). Once he instilled his ideology in the eyes of the young, and the old who felt that they were robbed in ww1, you could see how Nazis rose to power.

Remember im not a historian, I'm just a high school student who likes war ... I'm not always right but then again ww2 is one of my favorite things to read about ... if you really want to know more there are tons of books and journals that you could read
