Purtitan and othe olonial schools are different from the public schools of today is how in public school now we have sinks, toliets, electricty and other things thta need sources back then there wasnt that much.

They were much stricter than schools today. Some teachers hit kids with their sticks or canes. Others locked them in closets for long periods of time.You get whipped if you didn't sit straight

In colonial times most kids did most of the work in class, but they did have practice work sometimes. They had to do this on a slate with chalk, or on birchbark if they had any, because paper was too expensive to use.
Southern colonial time was very different then today. they did alot of croping cooking clothes making and not alot of kids went to school SS(:
