Is trade a sickness...I don't think so.it is possible that trade ships brought back illnesses to the UK and probably took illness back with them, but who could prove it. The plague was carried by rats, and ships have rats.
when people from around the world would travel to new places for crusades, the new environment would bring back plagues and illnesses that the people from "back home" weren't introduced to before and their body systems would get very sick from this disease or illness. The illness would spread from person to person and infect towns in very little time because they weren't very cleanly way back when ..
