It depends on what country you are talking about. The United States became a powerhouse after WW2. The unemployment rates shrunk and the higher middle class grew. In Japan, Germany, Russia, and England all suffered greatly as a result. Germany became even more broke, japan and England took huge losses, and Russia is communist so nobody had much to begin with. In short, Americans became wealthy and everyone else became poor.
