Variations of Athabaskan - Mescalero/Chiricahua kinda shared the same language. There are 6 variations of the Apache language. Many english words have 3 or 4 interchangeable Apache counterparts. Remember the wind-talkers in WW2? Their languange and style of speaking was so similar to the Navajo that Mescaleros were brought in with them. Many sylables are actually pronounced by breathing, not speaking.

I'm not sure about Mescalero Apache, but it is "Hago" in Navajo which is very closely related to Apache and so the Apache word may be similar.

There are lots of reservations in New Mexico. Mescalero & Jicarilla Apache, Navajo, Hopi, a variety of pueblo Indians
Apache, and Navajo Indians at one time were of the same group. Some Bands of the Apache Indians are still considered at Navajo. All came from the same racial group many years back. Apache did not have political interest with in the groups. So they were never called tribes, but bands instead. There were 7 main groups with each having their own Band name. Example: Lipan Apache, Mescalero Apache, and so on.
When studying Indian tribes, it is important to know their diet. The Mescalero Apache tribe ate things like agave, and the animals of the local land.
