Victorian children typically woke up early, usually around 6 a.m. or even earlier, to help with household chores or work in factories. Their daily routines often involved long hours of labor, and their schedules were dictated by the demands of their families and employers. School hours varied, but many children attended classes after completing their morning tasks.
Caroline Norton wrote to Queen Victoria, not Queen Elizabeth. She was an influential writer and social reformer in the 19th century and was known for advocating for women's rights and changes to divorce laws. Some of her letters to Queen Victoria focused on these issues.
The value of a 1866 Victorian penny can vary significantly based on its condition, rarity, and demand among collectors. Generally, these coins can range from a few dollars for those in lower grades to over $100 for those in excellent condition or with unique characteristics. For precise valuation, it's best to consult a coin dealer or a reputable auction site to assess current market trends.
No. William Shakespeare lived from 1564 to 1616. Queen Victoria ruled from 1837 to 1901, and her reign is what could be called "Victorian times." Basically you are at least 220 years off. Shakespeare's death was as long ago when Queen Victoria came to the throne as Queen Victoria's coronation is now. It's like saying that Washington was the President of the US on September 11, 2001.
Vitorian shoe shiners were individuals who provided shoe cleaning and polishing services, typically in urban areas during the Victorian era. They often worked in public spaces, such as streets and train stations, offering quick services to passersby. This profession was a common sight, as polished shoes were a symbol of status and cleanliness during that time. Shoe shiners often relied on their customer service skills and speed to attract clientele.

Their is not much violence in the first book over all. There are some parts that sensitive readers may find violent but nothing bad, same goes for the second book(Catching Fire) although it has more parts that some people may find violent than in the previous book. In the last book(Mockingjay) their are probably many parts that are considered "violent" their is more fighting in this book as it is a transition into war in Panem. hope that helped :)
