To keep people from robbing the tombs.
Booby traps were meant to deter tomb robbers from stealing the treasures inside the pyramids. They were designed to surprise and harm intruders by using mechanisms such as falling rocks, poison darts, and hidden pits. The traps were a way to protect the valuable belongings of the deceased pharaohs buried in the tombs.
Pharaohs did not typically install booby-traps in the pyramids. It is a popular myth perpetuated by Hollywood movies and storytelling. The pyramids were designed to protect the burial chambers from tomb robbers through architectural features like secret passages and heavy stone blocks.
i think it varies from pyramid to pyramid.
Yes!!! Every pryamid has booby traps such as: Rocks falling on an intruder, curses (Stuff like: If you enter my tomb you will die a slow and painful death), wire traps, hidden doors collapsing on an intruder, being stuck in a room with no doors, food, or supplies. If you're planning on visiting the great pyramids of Egypt, dont go in the pyramids (unless its safe). I doubt they'd let you go into one but it's a tricky, hard thing to do. Just so you know, no one has intruded the pyramids in thousands of years so... yeah... Haha! Good luck!
Possibly, if there are crypts that have not yet been discovered. All of the known crypts have, over the past several thousand years, had their surprises either tripped, or discovered and disabled by grave robbers and archaeologists. It is also possible that there are some in opened sites that did not function due to deterioration over time.
