Citizenship laws are complicated ... In general, if you had a parent with German citizenship at the time of your birth and have no other citizenship you are a German citizen. (Place of birth is irrelevant). Obviously naturalized Germans have citizenship. There are some others who may have a claim to citizenship - which is not the same thing as citizenship itself.
