It is really hard to foresee what will happen even in the next 100, or 1000, years. Hopefully, mankind will learn to get along with each other peacefully - and thus survive. Compared to this, any technological change is quite secondary. BUt if we DO survive, it is likely that technology will continue making a tremendous progress.


Anyway, it is estimated that in about a billion years it will become too hot on Earth for any life as we know it to survive. This is because our Sun will gradually become hotter and hotter.
