As far as I know Roman numbers go from the highest number letter on the left to smallest on the right. As such this string of letters looks incorrect. XXLMMXI It looks like it should read MMLXXXI. M=1000 L=50 X=10 I=1 the conversion on this roman numeral is 2081
In proper notation it would be 1900 - MCM the shortest and highest number. You could say MIM, but that would not be proper, but it could be read as 1999.
