God talked to Adam and Eve face to face, just as another person would, and seems not to have known that they had eaten the forbidden fruit until they said they were naked and ashamed. If Adam and Eve were ashamed in their nakedness, presumably God always wore clothes, although this is not stated. So to Adam and Eve, God would have seemed just like another man, except that he had authority over them.
