If it is The Bible you refer to as 'Scripture,' then Muhammad is not in it but Gabriel is identified as an angel of God - seemingly the messenger to mankind of important information for someone.
If you are referring to the Quran, I cannot find a definite correlation to Gabriel being an angel. It seems the name is another entity, perhaps even a jinn.
Some have said that those who read the Koran have a predisposition to assuming Gabriel is an angel though it is not specifically stated in the writings.
