Look on your power company's bill and find out how much you are being charged for a Kwh. It could be anywhere from .04 to maybe even .10 per Kwh. 1500 watts is = to 1.5 Kw. Say its .06/Kwh then 1.5 x .06 = .09 cents. At this price it will cost you .09 cents for every hour you operate the heater.

There is a Bosch model available for 200 - 300 dollars at many stores (Home Depot, Amazon, Ace). It is very small with only a six gallon tank. That's about a 2-minute shower. Make sure it is on its own circuit, and that it is grounded very carefully to specification.

To answer this question you need two more values to add to the equation. The time the heater is operated and the cost of a kWh in the area where you live. The formula is 1500 x time unit is on x cost of kWh in your area = cost of operation of the heater.

a 1500 watt heater uses a power of 1500 watts or 1.5 kilowatts, so each hour it is used will take 1.5 kilowatt-hours of energy. You have to multiply the power by the time to find the energy used, and energy is what you are billed for.

Kilowatt-hours are also called Units and you get billed on the units used. 1 Unit costs around $0.15 or £0.15, more or less, depending on where you are so that heater would cost about 22 cents/pence for each hour.
