It would not be so stable
Water rockets need fins because the rocket needs to stay in balance....without fins on a water rocket, the water rocket would be going out of control because it is not in balance!
Fins are used to help keep a rocket stable. The only way to find out if more fins will make it more stable is by testing it.
Wood or plastic.
You use fins and a nose cone on a bottle rocket because the cone reduces the drag on the rocket, and the fins help stabilize the rocket.
Fins on a rocket affects its flight by the way they are built on the rocket
it would have more control.
Wat is the disadvantage to having 4 fins on a rocket.?
the best fins for a bottle rocket is having four fins located at the bottom of your bottle rocket the shape of long triangles ! ! ! :) hope it helps !
It depends on a lot of stuffs like how much do you want your rocket to be stabile. But at least it must be 3. For example for the same stability you may have 3 fins that have large surface area or 4 which is smaller or more. When you increase the number of fins with the same surface area then the drag will increase because of the surface friction so 3 or 4 fins are generally used but there is no certain limit of the number of fins .
The size of fins required for stability on a rocket depends on factors like the rocket size, speed, and desired stability. Generally, larger and more streamlined rockets may require smaller fins, while smaller and less streamlined rockets may need larger fins for stability. It's important to consider the rocket's center of gravity and center of pressure when determining the right fin size for stability. Testing and experimentation are often needed to find the optimal fin size for a specific rocket design.
A water rocket should probably have three to four fins.
The further forward rocket fins are, the more they tend to steer it. You could mount fins at the front, but they would have to be incredibly straight and parallel for your rocket to fly straight. One of the worlds most famous anti aircraft missiles, the Sidewinder, has 4 small steering fins near it's nose. While it was being developed they found if these fins moved too quickly the main tube would actually twist and destroy itself !
