During WW1, most supplies were delivered by either land or sea. Air craft were in their early days, and were not yet large enough to be considered for true supply runs like those seen in WW2. For the Allies, supplies would be brought from overseas (America, Canada, India, Australia, Brittan, etc) to the HQ, which was behind the lines. It would then be distributed to its various destinations via early vans, but mainly by horse and cart.

Dysentery is caused by drinking contaminated water. Soldiers in WW1 often did not have access to clean water supplies.
Germany and the Central Powers of WW1 were running out of supplies and popularity of the war in their countries. Without either of these they could not fight the war and if they continued fighting they would have lost. There was just no reason for them to continue with the war
