The Catholics are the ones that decided that Jesus needed a set birth date. So they declared December 25 his birthday. They named it Christmas and people who are not even Catholic believe it. Jesus was probably born in the spring or summer. Caesar declared a census and he probably wouldn't have set it in December or any other winter months. It would have been during good traveling weather since everyone was to register in the town in which he was born. Even if Jesus was born in Christmas, he never told us to remember his birth but to remember his death by taking the Lord's supper on the first day of the week.
