One can show that elements that have different appearances have similar chemical properties by showing their placement on the Periodic Table. The table is arranged by chemical families that have similar characteristics.
The elements that are different in appearance but similar in characteristics are ones that are in the same group, you have to look at boiling points, freezing points, electronegativity, bonding relations, how they react etc. like the 1st group, the alkali metals, they alll react violently with water, noble gases, group 18 rarely (only 4) form compounds halogens bond to make salts, hence the same halogen, u need a reference table too
You can't really prove it much, since it has been proven already, lol. You can show that elements can have similar properties even though it has different appearances. every group, especially for the main group elements, give lots of insight as to the chemical properties of the elements within them. Elements are put into groups depending on how many valence electrons the element has. And since all elements with, lets say 2 valence electrons, all go into the same group, and since valence electrons greatly affect chemical properties, elements are grouped by their chemical properties/number of valence electrons.
the closer an element is to 0 or 8 valence electrons the more reactive it is.
If the elements are in the same group then they possess similar characteristics. That's the way the periodic table was designed.
Elements in the same group have the similar properties.
The answer to, ' when repeating chemical and physical properties of elements change periodically with the elements' atomic numbers it is called the?'Periodic law, is the answer. PERIODIC LAW !orPeriodicity of the chemical elements properties.
Periodic table group elements with same properties together. Hence their properties can be identified.
The chemical properties of chemical elements have a regular character.
Shortly, the chemical and physical properties of chemical elements recur periodically in the periodic table arrangement.
Except noble gases the groups of elements in periodic table have the similar chemical properties but not the physical.
The properties of chemical elements have a periodic trend.
The physical and chemical properties of the elements are periodic functions of their atomic numbers. The periodic law states that the physical and chemical properties of elements are periodic functions of their atomic numbers. They influence the characters of an element more than atomic weight.

Because the elements that have similar properties are arranged in groups - or 'periods'.
Periodic table determine chemical properties. It later helps in predicting the bonds formed by elements.

Properties of elements are periodic function of atomic number. Elements with same chemical properties are grouped together.
