Tough question. The best way is to use the same brand of camera with the same lens with both camera bodies and review each photo side by side. By far the biggest component in comparing SLRs with DSLRs is the image sensor in the DSLR.
Assuming your using comparable cameras this is what to look for: Resolution, depth of field and color latitude are the biggest points of interest for photographers making the jump from SLR to DSLR.
Resolution is easily tested by seeing at what point does the image get 'pixelated' (square blocks by zooming into the photo)
Depth of Field (DOF) is the area in focus vs out of focus. Also known as bokeh. This is tested by using a fast lens (low aperture, f stop) which will create small/shallow depth of field. This can be difficult because a small vs large sensor is a big contributor to DOF.
Latitude is tested by taking a photo of a color chart or a scene with dark and light objects. This will test the accuracy of the DSLRs sensor to color changes. Are the blacks black? Are some colors more bright then others? Does the DSLR favor certain colors over others?
These tests will give you a great starting point when comparing SLRs with DSLRs.
Too long, I know... :)
The easiest way to determine whether a camera is DSLR (or SLR) or not is by seeing if the lenses are detachable. If you can switch between different camera lenses, the camera is definitely either a DSLR or a SLR.
no it is a DSLR a SLR is a Single Lens Reflex camrea that acceps film and a DSLR is a Digital Single Lens Reflex camrea that is digital
Both. Depends on how old the camera is. DSLR is just a digital version of an SLR (single-lens reflex), which are the cameras with removable lenses.
One of the fancier lenses in the world of SLR and digital SLR (DSLR)
The Canon Rebel DSLR is what you will want to look at.
It is a DSLR. Right short answer. More exactly, Canon and Nikon are the best professional camera brands.
Cannon, then Sony, then Nikon. Any of these are the best quality DSLRs.
No, they are incompatible because they are of different focal lengths. Some companies sell converters.
Yes (in DSLR cameras....unaware of SLR)
This will depend on how much money you want to spend and what you will want to do with your camera. DSLR's give much better quality but cost much more.
Yes, your sister can purchase a SLR and DSLR camera online. She can go to the Best Buy website and create an account. Once she does this, she can view various SLR cameras available and purchase one with her account.
Firstly, a DSLR is a camera itself. And mobiles have their own cameras, but they're not DSLRs. If i have interpreted your question correctly, it is not possible to fit a DSLR inside a moblie.
