Depends on which Batman. The first Batman with Tim Burton was Micheal Keaton and Kim Basinger. The sequel to that had Micheal Keaton again with Michelle Pfieffer as catwoman and Danny Devito as the Penguin. In The other lame batman movies they had George Clooney and Val Kilmer. In The Dark Knight Batman was played by Christian Bale, the Joker was Heath Ledger
Michael Keaton is best. but Bale plays better than Clooney. Bale did a superb job of playing Batman, where as Clooney almost made me never watch Batman again. George Clooney actually stated in an interview that he felt like he single handedly destroyed the entire Batman franchise. Val Kilmer is the best but bale is better then Clooney. Cooney was good, but not better then Bale
Even though Robin originally had been included in the script- he was dropped from the story and did not appear in the 1989 film. However, Robin did appear on-screen in the sequel "Batman Forever" when Val Kilmer had taken over the role as Batman and Chris O'Donnell was the one playing the Boy Wonder. He returned to play Robin again in the next sequel "Batman & Robin".
