Easy, there's no such coin. If anything, it could be an error coin. American pennies were never minted in silver.
You've got to be more specific. Please give the country of origin and more information like that. The only country I know right off the top of my head that issued a silver penny in 1962 would be the UK which issues a Maundy set every year that includes a silver penny. These are collectors items and the penny by itself would be worth about $15-25 or so, but most of the time they are sold as a set.
It is worth a penny.
It doesn't. 1970 was the last year the US mint made half dollars for circulation in silver (halves dated 1964 and prior are 90% silver, those dated 1965-1970 are 40% silver). No 1971 half dollars are struck in silver.
Only a nerd would know

On a Lincoln penny, the mint mark ("S" for San Francisco, "D" for Denver) would be located just below the date.
The only coins dated 1967 to have any silver are the Kennedy halves. From 1965 to 1970 they are 40% silver, 1964 and earlier halves, quarters and dimes are all 90% silver.

In the Know - 1970 was released on: USA: 12 September 1970
We would need to have more information on this penny. For example, we would need to know the precise year and mint mark (if any) also we will need a general idea of the penny's condition. (called the "grade")
My husband and I would like to know how JC Penny got it's name>
Well . . . there have never been any silver pennies minted in the US, so you must be talking about the steel pennies. As far as I know, 1943 was the only year that steel pennies, or 'steelies', were minted.
