It depends if it is a question or statement. If you were asking, "It is your turn to bat Andy?" You would end it with a question mark. "It's your turn bat Andy." You would use a period if you were telling Andy or making a statement.
"I will gesture to you when it is your turn."
In a sentence, the subject is the word that tells what it is about. In the sentence "watching the light turn yellow" the subject would be the word watching.
