How would you reconcile the truthfulness of gods with difficulties found in the Bible?

If one assumes that there are no gods, and The Bible is a work of fiction wirtten by man the difficulties cease to exist.
Dragons fly in fiction, but in reaslity they would be too heavy to do so. As they do not actually exist there is no problem with the contradiction.
