I wouldn't vote for someone who advocates senseless killing or who advocates the rich taking resources from the poor.

America has an interesting concept called separation of church and state, which would suggest that a political candidate should be judged by his or her actual politics, meaning political policies and proposals, rather than by the religion to which that political candidate adheres. Electing a Mormon does not thereby convert America to a Mormon nation, anymore than electing a Roman Catholic (which happened once, in 1960 with the election of John F. Kennedy) converted America to a Catholic nation. I believe that Jesus would understand this and would neither choose nor reject any candidate on the basis of religious affiliation.
The ability of persons, groups, or institutions to influence political developments would be called power.

Since most of the countries in the world are secular that is the religion and functioning of society is independent of each other, therefore to say if any religion can have any influence on any society would be difficult unless a country has a political system where religion and political administration are joined together. Although certain philosophies, ideas and traditions may be in place for centuries but to say that any specific religion governs the political, economical and sociological decision making does not exist except in some countries in the Middle East and Northern Africa.
Argumentative
If a political scientist supports a candidate that goes against how he believes politics work, no one would find his conclutions supportive.
It would be called a Convention.
There is no specific penalty for certifying an unqualified candidate for the presidency under United States law. The responsibility for evaluating a candidate's qualifications lies primarily with the voters and political parties, rather than with a specific legal authority. Ultimately, the consequences of electing an unqualified candidate would depend on the actions of other branches of government and the political system as a whole.
