Grammar is wrong. If we DON'T KNOW Nothing we know something. But if you mean "Why don't people know stuff" (or something), because they never learned it or even heard it. If you mean "How do people know nothing at all" I don't think that's possible. We all know when we're hungry.

I have a little motto I developed in High school "The more you know, the more you know the less you know." It means that the more one learns, the more one realizes how little they actually do know.
