This sounds like a first degree burn...keep it moist with non-oily creams. If it gets puffy, or hot to the touch, visit your doctor. BTW, we've all done it!
THIS IS NOT AN ANSWER....BUT IS BACKGROUND TO MY QUESTIONA couple of days ago, I burned my forearm pulling cookies out from the oven...I was wearing mitts, but I reached in to far. The burn in about 1 in long and 1/2in wide. It does hurt it you touch it or the area around it. the sides have been fading to a normal skin color. In the middle of the burn, the skin peeled off while I was swimming in our pool. It is a pinkish/reddish color. no blisters so far.
I'd say put it in cold water and if it hurts take some pain killers, if it gets worse see a doctor about it.

A partial-thickness burn (known as a second degree burn) will typically blister and should be submerged in cool water. A full-thickness burn (known as a third degree burn) is a serious medical condition and 911 should be called.
