This sounds like a first degree burn...keep it moist with non-oily creams. If it gets puffy, or hot to the touch, visit your doctor. BTW, we've all done it!

THIS IS NOT AN ANSWER....BUT IS BACKGROUND TO MY QUESTIONA couple of days ago, I burned my forearm pulling cookies out from the oven...I was wearing mitts, but I reached in to far. The burn in about 1 in long and 1/2in wide. It does hurt it you touch it or the area around it. the sides have been fading to a normal skin color. In the middle of the burn, the skin peeled off while I was swimming in our pool. It is a pinkish/reddish color. no blisters so far.
