The humanist holds that humanity emerged from a continuous process of nature and that modern science makes supernatural control of human destiny or the exclusive source of moral values unacceptable. A humanist bases her decisions on reason, science, history and known factual information.

In the humanist view, a person should appreciate life. The humanist takes control over her own life path with a focus on personal growth, acquiring a positive view of herself and having a positive impact on her world. She is always trying to determine a purpose for her life and takes responsibility for carrying out that purpose in the best possible way. She is willing to explore all the possibilities of life to find her niche. She is not concerned with death or what happens after death since death is the end of life, period. The here and now is important and living a meaningful life is the goal.
life on earth is important in its own right.
