Hydraulic, from the factory.
370 HP had the big heads (2.02 valves) and mechanical valve lifters, 300 and 350 had hydraulic valve lifters, but the 350 had the bigger heads.
You could take off a rocker and try to push down on the pushrod. You'd be able to feel the spring in a hydraulic lifter, but not on a solid lifter.
you might have to replace the lifters.
Mechanical Lloyd was created in 1970.
Back in 1970 all engine controls were done by mechanical means. The answer is no, there is no PCM on a 1970 VW Beetle.
There was never a fuse for a water pump in a 1970 mustang. They used a mechanical pump
Yes, it is a mechanical pump mounted on the engine.
To add hydraulic fluid to a 1970 International backhoe, locate the hydraulic fluid reservoir, which is typically found near the rear of the machine, often marked with a cap labeled "Hydraulic Fluid." Remove the cap and use a funnel to pour in the appropriate type of hydraulic fluid as specified in the owner’s manual. Make sure to check the fluid level with the dipstick if available, and ensure that the machine is on level ground for an accurate reading. After adding fluid, securely replace the cap before operating the backhoe.
In 1970, it was 11:1, mechanical, and about the same, effective. I think the version in the 90's, was 9:5, or 10:1, mechanical. Effective, probably around 9:1, or there abouts.
To check the hydraulic fluid level in a 1970 Ford 4000 farm tractor, first ensure the tractor is on a level surface and the engine is off. Locate the hydraulic fluid reservoir, which is typically near the rear of the tractor. Remove the dipstick or fill cap from the reservoir, wipe it clean, reinsert it without screwing it in, and then remove it again to check the fluid level. The fluid should be within the designated marks on the dipstick; if low, add the appropriate hydraulic fluid as needed.
Oh yes!!! There were two engine options for the 1970 Chevelle SS454. The LS5 was a mild, hydraulic lifter engine rated at 360 HP. The LS6 was a solid lifter fire breather rated at 450 HP.
