Tetany
Hypoparathyroidism primarily leads to low levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH), resulting in decreased calcium levels in the blood (hypocalcemia). This condition can cause muscle cramps, tingling in the fingers, and increased neuromuscular excitability, which may lead to seizures. Additionally, it can lead to dental issues, cataracts, and brittle nails due to impaired calcium metabolism. Long-term hypoparathyroidism can also result in complications such as osteoporosis.
Hypoparathyroidism is the medical term for decreased parathyroid activity, leading to low levels of parathyroid hormone and calcium in the blood, which can result in symptoms like muscle cramps, tingling sensations, and seizures. Treatment often involves calcium and vitamin D supplementation.
Hypoparathyroidism affects both males and females of all ages.
Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent hypoparathyroidism. A doctor can give you literature on how to live with the disease.
ok
Occasionally, too much parathyroid tissue is removed, and a person may develop hypoparathyroidism (under-functioning of the parathyroid glands).

Presently hypoparathyroidism is considered incurable. The disorder requires lifelong replacement therapy to control symptoms. Medical research however, continues to search for a cure.
One pattern of natural selection polygenic traits is directional selection, in which one end of the spectrum leads to increased fitness and the other end decreased fitness. Disruptive selection is when both ends of the spectrum lead to increased fitness and the middle leads to decreased fitness and it leads to two distinct phenotypes being selected for. It's opposite is stabilizing selection, in which the middle has the best fitness and the two extremes have decreased fitness.
Hypoparathyroidism
Hypoparathyroidism itself does not directly cause toxic goiter. Toxic goiter, often associated with conditions like Graves' disease, results from an overproduction of thyroid hormones, typically due to autoimmune stimulation of the thyroid gland. However, hypoparathyroidism can occur alongside other thyroid disorders, but it is not a direct causal factor for toxic goiter.
